Currently offering nature-based sessions via telehealth and in person in Boulder County’s beautiful parks and trails to encourage self compassion, intention, and deeper connection with yourself and surrounding natural environment.

Nature Therapy (Ecotherapy)

I believe that our connection to nature greatly impacts our overall wellness and our ability to access our truest version of self. In my work with nature I invite you to reconnect to the wild within and around you, and deepen the conversation with yourself and the natural world. Nature based work is experiential and allows you to access all of your senses, calm your nervous system, and inspire a deep curiosity that we often feel disconnected from due to living life indoors.

What is Ecotherapy?

Ecotherapy explores and deepens our innate connection and relationship with the Earth. It is a journey of increasing our sense of belonging, awareness, and wellbeing through creating intentional time with our natural environment. Nature based therapy assists us in getting back to our basic needs of connection and reciprocity to help us live more in harmony with the natural world, and therefore ourselves.

🍃

Our nature based work does not require you to be outdoorsy, or to meet any specific level of physical activity. Each session can look different depending on what your body and mind need in the moment. We may meet on a trail, at a park, or open space and from there we will either walk and talk or find a sit spot in nature to deepen our curiosity and guide our journey of exploration.

Inviting a deeper experience

Bringing your healing journey outdoors deepens the therapeutic experience. Many people seek nature as a refuge and a place where they can access peace and comfort which can help us to drop into the present moment. Nature aids healing due to it’s patterns of balance and harmony which we can tap into through intentional exploration. Nature based work can invite emotions, questions, and sensory experiences forward that are not as accessible from within the 4 walls of an office. This work allows us to access our true aliveness and creates space for curiosity, grounding, and self-reflection.

Reconnect to the wildness within and around you. The Earth welcomes you home.

Nature Heals

Nature is a pretty mind-blowing thing. The benefits of immersing yourself in its presence are endless. Here are just a few: Being in nature allows us to connect to our most authentic selves without the distraction of life’s busy pace. Nature invites a simpler way of being through tapping into the earths rhythm to promote balance and clarity. It allows us to connect with something larger than ourselves and creates space for inner reflection. Being in nature can actually have a similar effect to antidepressants (without the side effects) as it promotes a healthy balance within our brain while reducing fear, anger, and the production of our stress hormones. YAY for less stress!

Many people (including myself) find a sense of peace, joy, and inspiration from spending time in the outdoors and have seen an increase in confidence by participating in outdoor activities. Our immune systems are positively impacted and nature has even been shown to reduce blood pressure, muscle tension, and heart rate! Pretty amazing what the wilderness can do for us. It is the perfect environment for deepening the therapeutic work by incorporating it’s natural healing properties with the transformational impact of psychotherapy. So what are you waiting for!? Let’s get outdoors!
